Nana Kwame Bediako, Founder and Leader of the New Force Movement, has clarified that his organization is not a political party but a movement dedicated to transforming Ghana’s fortunes. The presidential candidate has ramped up his campaign efforts with a nationwide tour aimed at sharing his vision for a better Ghana.
During his “276 Tour” in the Central Region over the weekend, Mr. Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, addressed supporters in Swedru. He declared, “I do not represent any political party; neither is New Force a political party. It is a powerful movement aimed at dismantling the political system that has caused hardship, economic decline, and sleepless nights for Ghanaians.”
He urged citizens to focus on his message rather than campaign paraphernalia, emphasizing that his goal is to bring meaningful change to the country. “I want to be remembered not for my T-shirts but for my message,” he stated, encouraging Ghanaians to vote for him in the December elections.
Mr. Bediako criticized successive governments for failing to deliver sustainable development, with the exception of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s leadership. He warned that if Ghanaians fail to make informed choices in the upcoming elections, the country will face continued hardships that will leave future generations with little hope.
Highlighting the mismanagement of Ghana’s natural resources, including gold and cocoa, he accused the current leadership of prioritizing foreign interests over the needs of Ghanaians. “Our resources are given to foreigners before Ghanaians can benefit,” he lamented.
During a stop in Winneba, Mr. Bediako met with youth groups and shared his vision for industrializing Ghana and creating jobs. He called for a “new Ghana, a new revolution, and a new independence,” urging the public to reject leaders who have failed to provide opportunities for the country’s youth.
He also criticized the government’s inability to address unemployment and improve living standards, stating, “If we don’t do something, something will do something to us.” He encouraged Ghanaians, especially the youth, to take a stand against empty promises from political parties.
Mr. Bediako pledged to prioritize industrialization, job creation, and improved living conditions if elected president. His message of hope and transformation continues to gain traction as he positions the New Force Movement as a viable alternative to Ghana’s traditional political system.
