NPP flagbearer race: ‘But for peace, I would have responded to every insult’ — Kennedy Agyapong

Former Member of Parliament for Assin Central and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has stated that the party needs a united front to win the next general elections.

He noted that but for his desire to maintain peace and unity in the party, he would have responded to every jab thrown at him in the ongoing flagbearer campaign by his opponents.

Speaking during a campaign engagement with party delegates on Friday, October 17, Mr. Agyapong stressed that without unity, the NPP risks losing the 2028 general elections.

“We want unity in the party. You know my lifestyle; I can respond to any insults and jabs thrown at me, but for the sake of unity, I won’t. No one person can win general elections for the NPP without unity,” he said.

Mr. Agyapong further touted his job creation record, urging delegates to vote for him on January 31, 2026, if they want to see real transformation.

“I am a talk-and-do person. Some people campaign based on their tribe, telling others to vote for them because they are from the North. But ask them how many jobs they have created for their people aside from giving out small money during campaign periods.

“When you visit my new factory, you’ll find that 200 out of the 365 workers are northerners. If you want power, vote for Kennedy Agyapong to create businesses,” he added.
