About 300 workers of the Aviation Handling Service Ghana have been sent home following a redundancy exercise due to the negative impact of the covid-19 pandemic.

The managing Director, Thierry Maillot signed a letter dated March 4, 2024, with the title “Notice of Redundancy” sent a notice to affected staff with only a month.

In the letter, it was stated that their employment contract shall be terminated through Redundancy hence serving them with one month notice which takes effect from 5th March 2021.

The letter added that the action was due to the negative impact of covid-19 on its operation and the Aviation industry as a whole.

The negotiated redundancy package is two months basic salary for each year of service and the amount would be paid in two equal installments
