Reshuffle, the Qatari emir names Al-Kuwari as finance minister.

According to a statement made by the emiri court on Tuesday, Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad al Thani has chosen Ali Bin Ahmad Al-Kuwari as finance minister, following the arrest of the previous minister in May.

Prior to the reshuffle, Al-Kuwari was the minister of trade and industry and the acting finance minister.

Ali Sherif al-Emadi, his predecessor in the finance ministry, was arrested and relieved of his responsibilities in May on embezzlement charges.

He has never been able to communicate with while in police custody.
