Still births increases in Kpone katamanso -health director cautions

Kpone, (GAR) August 31- Dr.Priscilla Esther Biamah-Dankwah Kpone Katamanso Municipal health director, has cautioned that still birth among pregnant women were on the increase within the Municipality.

Dr. Dankwah made this revelation during the mid year performance review at the kpone Traditional Council auditorium in the Kpone Katamanso municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

The Municipal health director further informed that, the health directorate had recorded 12 still births from January to June this year; a situation she said was very disturbing.

Dr. Dankwah explained that the municipal health directorate could not ascertain what the cause of the sharp increase was but was quick to advise that health officials must up their services within their various communities.

She also explained that, lower figures were recorded in the previous year’s saying measures would be put in place reduce dramatically still births within the Municipality.

According to the Municipal health director, pregnant women must endeavor to attend antenatal care and go for routine checkups to save their unborn babies.
