Two traditional rulers in Njaba local government area, Nigeria’s Imo state, have been shot dead by gunmen.

On Tuesday, 19th October, 2021, about 20 local kings gathered in the area for a meeting when gunmen evaded the premises and started shooting randomly. Traditional leaders who sustained gunshot wounds were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital.

The state governor, Hope Uzodinma, has promised that the perpetuators will be made to face the full rigors of the law.

This attack is the most current of recent attacks plaguing the area. These series of attacks are blamed on criminal gangs operating in the region.
