Vice-President Opoku-Agyemang to represent Ghana at the 7th AU–EU Summit in Luanda, Angola

The Vice-President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, will represent the President, John Dramani Mahama at the 7th African Union–European Union (AU–EU) Summit, taking place from Monday, 24th to Tuesday 25th November 2025 in Luanda, Angola.

She is expected to deliver Ghana’s national statement on behalf of the President and underscore Ghana’s openness to equitable partnerships between Africa and Europe, rooted in mutual respect, shared prosperity, and strategic cooperation.

On global governance, she will call for a more inclusive multilateral order.

She will be speaking to an audience of Heads of State, EU and AU leaders, and global stakeholders.

She will outline Ghana’s priorities in economic stability, job creation, food security, climate action, peace and security, and value-chain transformation, particularly in agriculture and cocoa.

The Vice President will highlight Ghana’s ongoing economic recovery and structural reforms, including the government’s flagship 24-Hour Economy, Ghana’s commitment to local value addition in cocoa, expanded infrastructure under the Big Push Initiative, strengthened agricultural financing and the empowerment of women via the forthcoming Women’s Development Bank.

Her participation reinforces Ghana’s commitment to constructive dialogue, strategic partnership, and a united African voice on global challenges.
