Mahama embarks on two-day visit to Savannah Region under Resetting Ghana agenda

John Dramani Mahama is set to begin a two-day “Resetting Ghana Tour” in the Savannah Region on Friday, May 22, as part of efforts to evaluate development projects and interact directly with residents.

His first stop will be Sawla, where he is expected to officially launch the National BSTEM programme for basic schools. From there, he will proceed to inspect ongoing construction on the Sawla–Wa highway as well as the rehabilitation works on the Bole–Tinga road, both being implemented under the Big Push Programme.

On day one of the itinerary, the President will also perform a sod-cutting ceremony for the proposed Bole District 24-hour Economy model market. He will later tour development projects at the Bole College of Education and commission the Mahama ICT Centre located in Damongo, along with other educational facilities.

As part of the visit, he is expected to pay courtesy calls on traditional authorities, including the Yagbonwura.

On Saturday, May 23, 2026, the President will be joined by senior government officials, including ministers in charge of Roads and Highways, Education, and Youth Development and Empowerment, among others.

He is also scheduled to hold an open engagement with residents, where he will present updates on government achievements, ongoing policy initiatives, and respond to public concerns and feedback.

The tour will conclude with an inspection of the proposed Savannah Regional Hospital site before he departs the region.
